many years of being rewarded by our clients in the community, it has
become time to give back some of the resources we have received. Every
year, Heather & Justin Johnson award several
scholarships to graduating High School seniors who are continuing their
education at an out of the area college.
The Heather
& Justin Johnson Scholarship Fund
Qualifications
One $1,000 (One
Thousand Dollar) Scholarship Grant
will be awarded to a graduating senior for the 2008 school year. The
criteria used to select the recipient are as follows:
a. An established high academic standing
b. Consistent participation in extra-curricular activities
c. Documented community service hours
d. Existing financial need
Two letters of
reference must accompany the application. One letter to be provided by
someone familiar with the student’s academic standing and
extracurricular activities. The other must come from someone familiar
with the student’s community service work or employment history. Upon
request, the high school must provide information about the student’s
class size, grade point average and class standing as may be required
to help determine the finalist.
A typed, 750 word minimum response to the following essay question will
be required on 8-1/2” x 11” white paper. Name, address and social
security number must be included on each page. The question is: How
will this scholarship help further my education?
Application, essay and two letters of reference must be submitted by
March 1. Six board members will review and discuss the applications and
enclosures to determine the winner. The winner will be notified by
April 1. The Heather
& Justin Johnson Scholarship Fund will forward the value of
the scholarship grant to the school indicated by the winner. The funds
to be applied by the school to the recipient's first year of college

Remember the deadline for the receipt
of application is March 1. Do not
send folders, binders or photographs. Use only black ink on the
application and print or type all information required. Be sure to note
your name, address and social security number on all submissions.
